Introduction
Hi everyone! This video is going to be about the seven chakras. Essentially, chakras are the energy centers of the body, specifically the non-physical body, but they do correlate with areas of the physical body. There are seven starting from the base of the spine to the top of the head. These include the root chakra, sacral chakra, solar plexus or navel chakra, heart chakra, throat chakra, third eye or brow chakra, and the crown chakra.
For many individuals, these energy centers are out of balance, which often results in an unbalanced, ungrounded lifestyle. We often feel disconnected from ourselves and the world around us. The relationships in our lives are even dysfunctional as a result. Sometimes certain parts may be underactive, or even overactive. You can find tests online where you answer a bunch of questions to see percentages and what not. Whenever I did those tests, my third eye chakra was always overactive while my root chakra was generally underactive. So, it’s about balance, finding peace and balance in life. And, I needed to balance that.
Now, there are many ways to open these energy centers and balance them. And, while that will not be the primary focus of this particular video, being able to concentrate and relax is key. With this I find meditation to be the most helpful. What I personally have done is relax, physically and mentally. And, I visualize myself sitting in a grassy field and the energy coming from the Earth enters my body into the root chakra and I visualize the color of the chakra and it becoming vibrant and the energy circulating around it. I then imagine that energy continuing upwards to the next one. And so on and so forth until it has reached the crown chakra where I image the energy going into the sky and the universe and the universe’s energy coming back down into me as well. So, it’s a circulation between the Earth, me, and the universe. And in the process of doing this, I feel connect, focused, relaxed, and balanced. You can also do chants, audio, anything that will help you since certain techniques may not work for everyone.
Now before I begin, with each one I will be discussing the location, color, part of the body, purpose, and when it is blocked or unbalanced. Whether it be overactive or underactive.
Root Chakra
The first chakra is the root chakra. It is located at the base of the spine and is represented by the color red. It governs parts of the lower body as well as the skeletal system. It’s purpose is primarily grounding and a sense of security. It ensures we feel comfortable, secure, and connected wherever we are. However, when blocked or unbalanced it may cause a sense of insecurity, anxiety, fear, tension, feeling on edge.
So, someone may feel anxious and unable to ground themselves, especially in unfamiliar surroundings. But, balancing the chakra can allow one to feel at peace and connected to themselves wherever they are.

Now, this is the chakra that was underactive for me and as a results I could not function outside my room. Whenever I would go out somewhere I would have so much anxiety that I just didn’t want to go out. It would cause me to panic and become paranoid, dissociate. And, it has gotten a lot better since then. It does still happen at times, but I’ve certainly made improvements since then and will continue to make them.
Sacral Chakra
The second chakra is the sacral chakra. It is located slightly above the first chakra, in the sacrum and is represented by the color orange. It governs the reproductive system and sexual organs. It’s purpose is sexual energy and emotions. However, when blocked or unbalanced it may cause a lack of structure or control, as well as addiction.
So, someone may become an addict and unable to control their impulses. Drug and alcohol abuse, sex addiction, spending sprees, anything destructive that could be considered addictive. In additional, there could be sexual frustration. But, balancing the chakra can allow one to gain control over those impulses and be able to have a health sexual life if it was problematic for them.
Solar Plexus / Navel Chakra
The third chakra is the solar plexus, or navel, chakra. It is located in the center of the body and is represented by the color yellow. It governs the digestive system. It’s purpose is to balance the mind and emotions, personality / ego. However, when blocked or unbalanced it may cause an inability to handle emotions, including criticism, and properly cope, as well as poor self-image or worth.
So, someone may not be able to control their emotions and as a result could have extreme highs and lows. They may just completely lose it if they hear criticism, such as getting angry, depressed. They may even view themselves negatively as a result. But, balancing the chakra can allow one to have better control over mood swings as well as learn from criticism instead of seeing it as a threat.
Heart Chakra
The fourth chakra is the heart chakra. It is located in the middle of the chest at the level of the heart and is represented by the color green. It governs the heart. It’s purpose is primarily love and compassion. Being open to receiving and giving love. Feeling the emotions related to love, including those of love lost. However, when blocked or unbalanced it may cause feelings of unworthiness, jealousy, anger, and intense fears of abandonment and letting go of past relationships.
So, someone may feel like they cannot let go of old relationships and that all hope is lost for future relationships, which could lead to feelings of being unworthy of having love or even jealousy of other individuals. But, balancing the chakra can allow one to not only love others, but most important of all, love themselves and find their own inner peace, love, and acceptance.
Throat Chakra
The fifth chakra is the throat chakra. It is located in the throat and is represented by the color blue. It governs the throat and neck. It’s purpose is communication and expression. It allows one to be effective at communicating about themselves, such as their wants and needs. As well as allows them to confidently express themselves independently of what other’s think. However, when blocked or unbalanced it may lead to the inability to communicate effectively and express oneself, as well as dishonesty and deceit.
So, someone may feel intimidated by expressing themselves and cannot communicate how they truly feel, many times because they fear judgement. This can lead to being dishonest about oneself. But, balancing the chakra can allow one to express themselves without that fear of judgement. They know they are happy expressing themselves and what they want in life.
Third Eye / Brow Chakra
The sixth chakra is the third eye, or brow, chakra. It is located in the center of the forehead and is represented by the color indigo. It often governs the face and brain, including the pineal gland in the brain. It’s purpose is intuition. It allows one to focus and accurately anticipate things. As well as dreams and imagination. However, when blocked or unbalanced it may cause feelings of emptiness and inability to tell reality from fantasy.
So, someone may feel a sense of emptiness and disconnect. Perhaps the inability to concentrate and envision how they want things. But, balancing the chakra can allow one to intuitively know the answer to their life and go down the right path and make the proper decisions for them.
Now, this is the one that was overactive for me which would explain the delusions I had in the past. It was difficult for me to tell what was really going on, or if it was all in my mind. And at the time of it happening, I couldn’t tell at all that it was delusional thoughts.
Crown Chakra
The seventh chakra is the crown chakra. It is located at the top of the head and is represented by the color violet, but also sometimes white. It does not usually govern a part of the body, but rather it’s your entire being, your consciousness, the link between you and the universe and your higher self. It’s purpose is to connect us to the universe and our higher self. It provides wisdom. However, when blocked or unbalanced it may cause feelings of arrogance / narcissism, lack of purpose in life, and disconnection.
So, someone may feel like they are superior to everyone else and have an inflated ego. And as a result, have lost touch with their true self and are instead working against their true self. But, balancing the chakra can allow one to feel a sense of connection to themselves and the world around them, and see all as equal.
Conclusion
So, those are the seven chakras. Balancing them can take time, but by doing so you can live a balanced lifestyle. Remember, when one is overworked, it may often mean one that another is underactive. It’s about finding even ground. Feel free to share your experience and knowledge on the subject. And, I hope this video was informative and helpful. Thanks for watching!
