Our gut health is directly linked to our mental health. And, we’ve all directly experienced this connected. Have you ever eaten anything that didn’t sit well with you, making your stomach hurt and feeling nauseous? If so, have you monitored how your mental state was during this time? You’ll find that you are not the right frame of mind and can even feel loopy and out of place.

That’s why it’s so sad to see people who struggle with depression, anxiety, and other mental conditions eat junk food, fast food, processed foods, candy, and sweets. These people are unintentionally causing their own decline in mental health because those foods are intended to be addictive and cause dependency and mental health deterioration. No amount of medication, meditation, or supplements will fix this until they can change their diet.

Probiotics are vital to keeping the gut in proper order. Many probiotics exist, and my favorites are kimchi, sauerkraut, miso, and kombucha. It will take time for your gut to adapt to changes in diet, so you may feel discouraged initially since it may feel like things are not changing quick enough, or may seem worse. But, long-term supplementation, with a healthy diet, is greatly beneficial.

Our bodies are intended to eat real food, so avoid artificial ingredients, colors, flavors. GMOs, and so on. Our body cannot recognize unnatural ingredients that don’t exist in nature, which is why it’s crucial to eat natural and organic foods!
